Tee times set for 12 LIV Golf players in first two rounds at U.S. Open

PINEHURST, N.C. – Crushers GC Captain Bryson DeChambeau will play the first two rounds at this week’s U.S. Open with a familiar playing partner in Norway’s Viktor Hovland.

Those two were paired together for the final round of last month’s PGA Championship, with DeChambeau finishing second and Hovland third to winner Xander Schauffele.

DeChambeau, the 2020 U.S. Open champ, has enjoyed an excellent run in the first two majors of this year, tying for sixth in his best career result at the Masters before shooting 20 under to finish runner-up to Schauffele at Valhalla. He shot a final-round 64 to Hovland’s 66 at the PGA.

DeChambeau, Hovland and Max Homa will tee off at 1:25 p.m. in Thursday’s first round off the 10th tee at Pinehurst No 2.

Tee times were released for the first two rounds, with each of the LIV Golf players in the field playing in separate groups.

Two-time U.S. Open winner Brooks Koepka, the Smash GC captain, will play with two other major champions in Justin Thomas and Collin Morikawa.

Cleeks GC Captain Martin Kaymer, who won the U.S. Open by eight strokes in 2014 when the tournament was last held at Pinehurst, also is paired with major winners in Shane Lowry and Keegan Bradley. 

HyFlyers GC Captain Phil Mickelson, who has finished runner-up six times at the U.S. Open, will play with Rickie Fowler and Adam Hadwin. Mickelson, who turns 54 on Sunday, would complete the career grand slam with a win.

Legion XIII Captain Jon Rahm, the 2021 U.S. Open champ, withdrew on Tuesday afternoon with a foot infection that forced him out during Saturday's second round at LIV Golf Houston.
