Mickelson made too many errors in his quarterfinal match, and if there is one man who can change things overnight, it is him. But he is up against the formidable Johnson, who has rediscovered his form.

McDowell/WiesbergerUnless something goes horribly wrong with DeChambeau’s driver on the water-laden Trump Doral, his current form suggests Kaymer will have a tough time. Casey, coming off a good final round in Jeddah, is up against the in-form and solid Bland, and this one will go down to the wires.

Torque vs. Stingers

McAllister’s pick: Stinger 2-1. Oosthuizen def. Niemann; Munoz def. Grace; Burmester/Schwartzel def. Pereira/Puig. Might be the closest match of the day. Torque has huge firepower but have been a bit inconsistent. Stingers too experienced.

If Garcia’s right thumb, which has a deep gash after a freak dining injury, holds up, he should have no trouble against Watson. Chacarra was red-hot in the quarters against Horsfield, but Individual champion Gooch seems to be in the form of his life.
