MIAMI – Semifinal matches are set for Saturday’s Team Championship competition. LIV Golf’s editorial team – editorial director Mike McAllister and team correspondents Joy Chakravarty, Mark Lamport-Stokes and Bryan Mullen – predict the outcome of each match.

4Aces vs. HyFlyers

McAllister’s picks: 4Aces 3-0. Johnson def. Mickelson; Reed def. Tringale; Uihlein/Perez def. Steele/Piot. Too much firepower by the Aces, but I think all three matches will be tight.

Chakravarty’s pick: 4Aces 2-1. Johnson def. Mickelson; Tringale def. Reed; Uihlein/Perez def. Steele/Piot. Mickelson made too many errors in his quarterfinal match, and if there is one man who can change things overnight, it is him. But he is up against the formidable Johnson, who has rediscovered his form.

Lamport-Stokes’ pick: 4Aces 3-0. Johnson def. Mickelson; Reed def. Tringale; Uihlein/Perez def. Steele/Piot. 4Aces GC have too much strength and depth for the HyFlyers to handle.

Mullen’s pick: 4Aces 3-0. Johnson def. Mickelson; Reed def. Tringale; Uihlein/Perez def. Steele/Piot.4Aces GC has a magical comeback on Friday but comes up short against the best team.

Crushers vs. Cleeks

McAllister’s pick: Crushers 2-1. DeChambeau def. Kaymer; Bland def. Casey; Lahiri/Howell def. McDowell/Wiesberger. Gotta love the Cleeks’ fight but this Crushers team is in much better form that the one we saw a year ago on the Blue Monster.

Chakravarty’s pick: Crushers 3-0. DeChambeau def. Kaymer; Casey def. Bland; Lahiri/Howell def. McDowell/WiesbergerUnless something goes horribly wrong with DeChambeau’s driver on the water-laden Trump Doral, his current form suggests Kaymer will have a tough time. Casey, coming off a good final round in Jeddah, is up against the in-form and solid Bland, and this one will go down to the wires.

Lamport-Stokes’ pick: Cleeks 2-1. DeChambeau def. Kaymer; Bland def. Casey; McDowell/Wiesberger def. Lahiri. The Cleeks continue their strong late-season surge, and benefit from their match play prowess.

Mullen’s pick: Crushers wins 2-1. DeChambeau def. Kaymer; Casey def. Bland; McDowell/Wiesberger def. Lahiri/Howell. Crushers are well rested and will get off to a fast start.

Torque vs. Stingers

McAllister’s pick: Stinger 2-1. Oosthuizen def. Niemann; Munoz def. Grace; Burmester/Schwartzel def. Pereira/Puig. Might be the closest match of the day. Torque has huge firepower but have been a bit inconsistent. Stingers too experienced.

Chakravarty’s pick: Torque 2-1. Niemann def. Oosthuizen; Grace def. Munoz; Pereira/Puig def. Burmester/SchwartzelThis exciting match-up is all about experience against youth. In the end, Torque, the most successful team this season with four titles, should be able to nick it.

Lamport-Stokes’ pick: Stinger 2-1. Oosthuizen def. Niemann; Munoz def. Grace; Burmester/Schwartzel def. Pereira/Puig. The Stingers make the most of their Doral experience and current form to upset the third seeds.

Mullen’s pick: Torque wins: 3-0. Niemann def. Oosthuizen; Munoz def. Grace; Pereira/Puig def. Burmester/Schwartzel. Niemann has had laser-focus while on the grounds at Doral and his teammates will feed off it.

RangeGoats vs. Fireballs

McAllister’s pick: RangeGoats 2-1. Garcia def. Watson; Gooch def. Chacarra; Pieters/Varner def. Ancer/Ortiz. If Bubba was in better form, the RangeGoats would be the pick. Expect Garcia to rebound from his quarterfinal loss.

Chakravarty’s pick: Fireballs 2-1. Sergio def. Watson; Gooch def. Chacarra; Ancer/Ortiz def. Varner/Pieters. If Garcia’s right thumb, which has a deep gash after a freak dining injury, holds up, he should have no trouble against Watson. Chacarra was red-hot in the quarters against Horsfield, but Individual champion Gooch seems to be in the form of his life.

Lamport-Stokes’ pick: RangeGoats 3-0. Watson def. Garcia; Gooch def. Chacarra; Varner/Pieters def. Ancer/Ortiz. The RangeGoats have too much firepower for the Fireballs.

Mullen’s pick: RangeGoats wins 3-0. Watson def. Sergio; Gooch def. Chacarra; Varner/Pieters def. Ancer/Ortiz. Watson wants this badly and he has let it be known.
