KEY STORYLINES

LIV Golf completes its first full League season with a return to Miami for the Team Championship, the season-ending team-only competition involving both match play and stroke play

The tournament will be played at the famed Blue Monster course at Trump National Doral, with a total purse of $50 million, largest of any LIV Golf event

Defending champion 4Aces GC, captained by Dustin Johnson, enter the tournament as the No. 1 seed for the second consecutive year

The top four teams in the season-long points standings – 4Aces GC, Crushers GC, Torque GC and RangeGoats GC – earned first-round byes, with the eight remaining teams competing in a match-play format (two Singles, one Foursomes) in Friday’s Quarterfinals

The four Quarterfinals winners will advance to Saturday’s Semifinals, with teams once again competing in match play (two Singles, one Foursomes)

For both the Quarterfinals and Semifinals, higher-seeded teams will select their opponents

Sunday’s Finals involves all 12 teams/48 players competing in a three-tier stroke play competition, with every score counting to determine the final order

Talor Gooch, winner of the Individual Champion after last week’s LIV Golf Jeddah, competed for 4Aces last year before joining Bubba Watson’s RangeGoats this season

Smash GC Captain Brooks Koepka enters Miami after successfully defending his Jeddah tournament title by beating Gooch on the second playoff hole

Fireballs GC, captained by Sergio Garcia, won the team title in Jeddah for its second victory of the season

Ripper GC Captain Cameron Smith, who finished second in the Individual standings, shot a 7-under 65 in last year’s Finals to lead his team to a second-place finish

The Blue Monster course at Trump National Doral is hosting the LIV Golf Team Championship for the second consecutive year

Doral hosted elite-level professional tournaments starting in 1962

The course was lengthened and made more dramatic during a complete redesign by famed golf architect Gil Hanse in 2014

The course features a series of strategically placed deep bunkers, long flowing fairways, interesting undulating greens, deep Bermuda rough and a challenging assortment of water hazards

The famous 18th hole is traditionally considered one of the most difficult in golf

LIV Golf members Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson and Patrick Reed are among the golfers who have tamed the Blue Monster, while Bubba Watson is a three-time runner-up

LIV Golf Commissioner and CEO Greg Norman won three times at Doral during a seven-year stretch (1990, 1993, 1996)
