Kjettrup, a highly decorated amateur and standout collegiate player, turned pro in 2024 following an eighth-place finish in the PGA Tour University rankings, earning him a conditional exemption to the Korn Ferry Tour and full exemption to PGA TOUR Americas. In just eight events played, Kjettrup managed to capture three titles, at the Beachlands Victoria Open, ATB Classic, and CRMC Championship.
“Frederik is one of the brightest young talents in the game,” said Kaymer. “His impressive track record and fearless approach make him a perfect fit for our team. I’m looking forward to seeing him thrive within the competitive atmosphere of LIV Golf.”
Collegiately, the Dane played all four years for Florida State University, where he became just the fourth three-time All-American in program history. The Seminole finished his career second all-time at FSU in career scoring average (71.29). As a three-time individual tournament champion, Kjettrup owns the most rounds at 64 or lower (four) in program history, and was a co-medalist at the 2024 ACC Championships.
As an amateur, Kjettrup notched multiple prestigious wins including the Titleist & Footjoy West Coast Masters (2017), DGU Elite Tour I Drenge, Valderrama Open, German Junior Golf Tour U18 Championship (2018), Danish National Match Play Championship (2019, 2021), and the Watersound Invitational (2023).
“Frederik embodies everything our team stands for: talent, sportsmanship, and the drive to redefine the future of golf,” said Cleeks GC General Manager, Jonas Martensson. “We are proud to welcome him to the team and are confident he will make an immediate impact both on and off the course.”
As last year’s LIV Golf Houston team champions, Cleeks GC will aim to build on their momentum heading into the 2025 LIV Golf League season which tees off at LIV Golf Riyadh from Feb. 6-8.
