MAJESTICKS GC QUICK REVIEW
TEAM
Entering the season with high hopes thanks to an increased commitment to data-driven improvement, the team came tantalizingly close to ending its two-year podium drought. In three different tournaments, they finished fourth – two of those times by just a single stroke. But too many back-of-the-pack finishes kept popping up, a frustrating development for the trio of highly credentialed co-captains.
PLAYERS (final points ranking)
Sam Horsfield (31): Had the team’s best individual result, a solo second in Nashville, that was also his best career finish on LIV Golf. He also led the team with five top-24 points finishes.
Henrik Stenson (35): Ended the regular season on a strong note with a tie for sixth, and he led the league in driving accuracy. But his putter failed him too many times, preventing him from contending on a consistent basis.
Lee Westwood (36): His tie for third in Nashville was his first individual podium finish in LIV Golf, sandwiched between two other top-20 finishes. Outside of that hot stretch, he struggled to contend.
Ian Poulter (37): Posted his best LIV Golf result with a solo fifth in the regular-season finale in Chicago and also added another top-10 finish earlier in the season. But like his fellow co-captains, there was a frustrating lack of consistency.
