The 2025 LIV Golf League season starts Feb. 6 in Riyadh. Here’s a quick look at Bryson DeChambeau’s Crushers GC.
OVERVIEW
Lineup
- Bryson DeChambeau (Captain), USA
- Paul Casey, England
- Charles Howell III, USA
- Anirban Lahiri, India
Who’s New? No one. This lineup has been intact since Lahiri made his LIV Golf debut at the 2022 tournament in Boston, where he tied for second after making a three-man playoff.
The Offseason: Huge news to start the new year when the team announced a long-term partnership on Jan. 2 with Reebok to become the official apparel and footwear sponsor, marking the company’s re-entry into the Performance Golf category while DeChambeau becomes the official face of Reebok Golf … DeChambeau, of course, also continued to increase his massive social media following thanks to 16 consecutive days of must-see videos in his attempt to make a hole-in-one over his new house. Oh, and he hung out with some famous people … Lahiri was busy as the ambassador for the International Series India presented by DLF, as he helped to bring DeChambeau, Casey and several other LIV Golf stars to his native country the week before the start of the LIV Golf season.
Going to be a good year if … everyone stays healthy. No more injuries like the one that derailed Howell’s year in 2024.

ANALYSIS
STRENGTHS
Bryson, of course – He won the U.S. Open last year but not an individual LIV title. He’ll push for Individual Championship honors this season.
His three “uncles” – The Crushers’ team-room setup with a youngish captain and three experienced, steady older influences has shown to be a winning formula.
No 1-to-4 hierarchy – While DeChambeau is the clear No. 1, the other three are basically 2A, 2B & 2C. No other team can really match that front-end depth.
OPPORTUNITIES
Health – Casey had his issues in 2023; Howell missed four tournaments in 2024.
Sting of Dallas – Last year’s Team Championship in Bryson’s backyard was a surprising bummer, with the Crushers blanked in a semifinal loss to the Iron Heads. Probably just a bump in the road.
WORTH NOTING
NEW DRIVER. In 2023, Bryson DeChambeau credited a mid-season driver switch as a huge key in turning around his results, as he won two LIV tournaments while shooting 58 at Greenbrier. DeChambeau is making another driver switch now, working with LA Golf to essentially build the perfect driver for his game. DeChambeau also wants to create a driver for golf players of various levels to use.
“The driver’s going to be available in March,” DeChambeau said. “I’ve got this new iteration of the driver, one of the final iterations that I’m going to be able to use and play with in the majors. And I believe this is the driver that’s going to make me hit it even straighter.”
HEALTH FOCUS. A stress fracture in his lower left tibia sidelined Charles Howell III for four tournaments in 2024. He returned to the lineup near the end of the season and adjusted his training regimen accordingly in hopes of avoiding further problems. “It got my attention in a way where I addressed everything I do in the gym differently now,” he said. “I think it’s a reminder that I’m 45 and longevity needs to be a big focus for me because I love this game, I love LIV, and I want to play here as long as a I can.”
BUDDY FIGURES: At age 31, DeChambeau is the third youngest captain in LIV Golf behind Joaquin Niemann and Jon Rahm. Teammates Paul Casey, Charles Howell III and Anirban Lahiri are 47, 45 and 36, respectively. DeChambeau has been appreciative of their guidance and counseling, but sometimes the age gap disappears and they just become four close friends striving for a singular purpose while having some laughs.
“I don’t know if we’ve been as much of a father figure to Bryson as it’s just been buddies,” Howell said. “Bryson and I are the golf nerds, golf dorks. We’ll go down rabbit holes and debate stuff and think about stuff. Paul and Baan are less so that. So it’s a bit of everything. It’s been really fun having the built-in buddies.”
CAPTAIN'S LAST WORD
You still have to play great golf in order to maximize the YouTube scene and that side of the coin, but we’re still going to promote and grown the game as much as possible on YouTube. Hopefully, that transitions over to the Crushers as well. We’re just over 200,000 organic followers, the most followed golf team out there. We want to get that to a million.Bryson DeChambeau
