Joaquin Niemann (CHL, captain)

Ever since he was the world’s No.1 amateur for 44 weeks between 2017 and 2018, there has been little doubt that Niemann was destined for the very top.

Wins on the PGA Tour and DP World Tour have been followed by stellar success with LIV Golf. He was only the second man to break 60 at a LIV Golf event when he shot 59 on his way to victory at Mayakoba in 2024.

Still in his mid-twenties, the best golfer Chile has ever produced looks certain to go on to further success, both as an individual and as an inspirational captain of Torque GC.

Mito Pereira (CHL)

Pereira came agonizingly close to giving Chile its first Major winner when he led by three shots going into the final round at the 2022 PGA Championship. He was foiled at the last by Justin Thomas, but has continued to compete strongly in his time with LIV Golf.

He was eighth on the overall standings in 2023, boosted by two podium placings including a runner-up finish at The Greenbrier. One of his highlights in 2024 was competing at the Paris Olympics alongside his friend and compatriot Niemann.

Sebastian Muñoz (COL)

Muñoz showcased his quality immediately after joining LIV Golf at the start of the 2023 season. His eighth place in his opening event in Mayakoba was followed by a runner-up spot at Orlando, where Torque GC won its first team prize.

The Colombian - who broke into the world’s top 50 just before moving to LIV Golf - more than held his own in 2024, finishing in the top half of the leaderboard in all but two of the events where he competed.

Carlos Ortiz (MEX)

There was little surprise when Ortiz moved to Torque GC before the start of the 2024 season. He had been close friends with the other three Latin Americans for a long time, and relished the chance to team up with them.

The highlight of his first season was his individual victory at Houston. Texas is a place close to Ortiz’s heart; he played his college golf there, and his first PGA Tour victory was also in Houston, in 2020.

“I’m happy to get it done again in Houston,” he said after that 2024 victory. “I guess Texas likes me, and I like Texas back.”
