player roster
Jon Rahm (ESP, captain)
Rahm has been a fixture at the very peak of world golf for so long that it is surprising to realize he only turned 30 in November 2024. Top-five finishes at the Masters and the PGA Championship in 2018 illustrated the talent of the rising Spanish star, who then won the 2021 US Open and triumphed at Augusta in 2023.
His consistent excellence ensured that, between July 2020 and May 2023, Rahm was at the top of the world rankings six times, for a total of 52 weeks.
“I fight till the end, every shot matters to me,” could be his personal mantra – and the ideal battle-cry to inspire a team driven by the warrior spirit.
Tyrrell Hatton (ENG)
If Rahm wanted to surround himself on the course with men who relish the intensity of battle, he could hardly have chosen better than Tyrrell Hatton. The Englishman wears his heart on his sleeve, and his ferocious will to win leads to occasional on-course outbursts of anger.
There is no doubting the quality of his golf, though. Hatton finished in the top 10 seven times in his maiden season in LIV Golf, and the highlight was his victory in Nashville.
Caleb Surratt (USA)
The experience of men like Rahm and Hatton is complemented by the youthful exuberance of Surratt, the youngest man on the 2024 LIV Golf roster.
Just months after his last college golf tournament in late 2023, Surratt made his professional debut at Mayakoba in the first event of the LIV Golf calendar. A tie for 13th showcased his promise, and helped Legion XIII GC to clinch the team prize.
Three more top-20 finishes through the season proved that wasn’t beginner’s luck, and suggests a seriously bright future for the youngster from Tennessee.
Tom McKibbin (NIR)
The LIV Golf League welcomed another bright young talent to its roster when Tom McKibbin was unveiled as the latest recruit for Jon Rahm’s Legion XIII GC.
The Northern Irishman was the 2023 European Open champion and last December was named Men’s Professional of the Year for the second time in a row by the Irish Golf Writers’ Association.
McKibbin, who spent his early years playing at Holywood Golf Club in County Down, was a hugely consistent performer in the 2024 season’s DP World Tour, amassing nine top-10 finishes from 27 tournaments played, with a stroke average of 69.86.
