Fresh off a runner-up finish in Hong Kong, Stinger GC is locked in and ready to go as the LIV Golf League heads to Singapore from 14-16 March
With momentum on their side, the team is aiming to go one better at Sentosa Golf Club, a course that promises a different kind of test.
Oosthuizen on the Team’s Form and Singapore Challenge
Stinger GC Captain Louis Oosthuizen believes the team is trending in the right direction and is confident they can build on their recent success.
“We're starting the fourth week this weekend in Singapore. So far, we've had a very good week in Hong Kong. It was a bit of a slow start to the season for the team, but last week got us going. We’re all in good vibes, playing well, and sitting fourth overall, so we’re ready for the rest of the season. Finishing second in Hong Kong was a big momentum shift for us—we almost had a shot at a play-off.”
Looking ahead to Singapore, Oosthuizen is expecting a strategic battle at Sentosa Golf Club:
“The golf course is probably in the best condition we’ll play all season. I’ve played it a lot in my younger years, and it’s a great test. The weather is always brutal here, but we’re all really excited. Expect a lot of birdies—the greens are so pure that plenty of putts will be dropping.”
On his own form, Oosthuizen is looking to build on momentum gained in Hong Kong:
“Individually, I’ve got some work to do to get back to where I was last year. There are a few things that need to fall into place and some momentum I need to build on. But I definitely felt a shift in my game in the last two rounds in Hong Kong, and hopefully, I can carry that into this week.”
A Unique Challenge at Sentosa
Widely regarded as one of the best courses in Asia, Sentosa Golf Club is known for its pristine conditions and demanding layout. With a mix of elevated tee shots, water hazards, and fast greens, precision and course management will be key to success.
